Where's Waldoreo?

Our stove, after being in our house longer than we have limped us through the summer. On our trip to NJ John hooked us up with the appliance of my dreams - flat surface convection oven!! Neil and I managed to get it in easier than we thought. LOVE my new oven. The kids (and Oreo) thought the box it came in was THE BEST. The kids played in it all week (until a spider moved in) and Oreo enjoyed some "king of the mountain" time with it. Can you find the black cat in the picture???

The Six Flags New Jersey adventurers! Took a ride down to Jackson, NJ last weekend to see Grandma Libby and John. Since we hardly ever get there when it's not the middle of winter we took a ride over to the safari park at Six Flags. Amidst the screams of the poor unfortunates on that slingshot rollercoaster nearby we saw all kinds of creatures. Some got real up close and personal. Nice to see John and Libby when it's not parka weather! We already decided that next year would be a trip down to the aquarium.

Papa has a new little boy - Harley. He picked him up on 8/20 the day we got home from Florida. Harley was bron in Texas and flew up to join the clan. The kids couldn't wait to see him. They chased him around and got him all tuckered out. Cute little guy, isn't he? Now, of course, they want a kitten. Neil thinks that's funny.

Aunt Bet's first day with her back brace off - woo hoo!!

Spent a fabulous kid-free weekend at Dad H's house in Florida the weekend of 8/16-8/20. Little rough getting there (2 a.m. arrival) but all was well after. I actually saw Neil relaxed - how often can anyone say that?? We went to the beach, hung by the pool and tooled around in the Beemer. Aunt Bet met up with us for dinner at Seasons 52 - our new favorite restaurant. We went twice, soooo good. Ocean Grille (formerly Carmine's) look out. I'm pleased to say that I continued to whomp Neil all weekend with the ING cards. Gotta love that mojo. Kids were at Grandma camp, and now we're back to reality, but boy was it fun!

Hartzog Happenings

My friend Deb sent me a link to her new blog and I thought - billiant idea! One stop shopping for people to see what we've been up to. Had a great 2 weeks in Maine (Mom Pelkey there for 1 week with the kids and I, Neil up week 2). Had the Hanna Family up for a couple days. Some LONG overdue Hartzog/Hanna bonding. Did I mention the women won almost all of the card games?? Here's an old picture of the 4 of us in Maine until I get the new ones uploaded.

Got to see Dick and Becky Bisbee (we always seem to bump into them up there!). Took in a 2 day trip to Portland to see the Sea Dogs, had our annual trip to the ER to get a stitch in Devin's head (head vs. coffee table). All pretty typical stuff.

This is our only weekend home until mid-September, so we'll try to keep everyone posted on our travels. Happy August!
