Snoozin' with the kitty

Julia has fallen in love with the cats again. She pets them, follows them, picks them up all the time (just ask poor Harley how his weekend in Florida was with us there!).

Well, last night we let Julia fall asleep in our room and when we went up to move her, she was sound asleep right next to Oreo. She must have fallen asleep while she was petting him because her hand was still there when we came up. What's more amazing is that he seemed just as happy and content!

Discovery Channel in Our Backyard

One afternoon last week we saw nature in action in our backyard. We've had a bunch of hawks flying overhead lately and on this day we saw him about to have lunch. I was a little sad for the squirrel, but then Julia reminded me, "It's nature, Mommy. It's part of the food chain." Well, there you have it.
Devin's class has been studying birds of prey so we thought it would be ok to take some pictures (nothing gory).

First Time in First Class

One of the fun little things that happened over Easter weekend happened on our way home! The flight we took for part of the trip home was full, so bummer...we ended up in 1st class. All 4 of us. You could see the looks on the faces of the people as they saw us come aboard - oh no, 2 kids in 1st class (groan). Well, they didn't even know they were there b/c they were as good as gold (as they always are on a plane).

It was an awfully smooth ride in that big ol' seat!

More Easter Weekend in Florida

We snuck down for what was the last of the sunshine and took the kids to the park down the street. Dad H. lives in this great neighborhood and his house is wedged between a pool and a park! We got some fun toys from Betty (one of which was a football) so we took it to the park to play a little. See the gekko? It was the only one we saw the whole weekend! (Which is pretty unusual.)
Last one is from the park at the beach. We made it just before the rain came!

A few more from the big 3-9...

Does Devin know something we don't know...?

The Big 3-9 (ok, the big 6-0)

Ok, Aunt Bet, this one's for you! Aunt Bet was turning 39 on Easter (hee hee, 60) and in addition to the big surprise that we were all there, Dad had a few more in store. We had dinner at his house and surprised Aunt Bet on Friday. Then after Adam and Lindsay came in on Saturday we took a limo and had a big family night out at Ocean Grill. It was a nice way to celebrate a happy occasion for a lovely lady!

We surprised Gaga at Juno Beach Cafe on Friday for lunch. She didn't even see us sitting at the next table. We were so proud of ourselves for pulling off all the surprises!

Quick Florida Weekend

Dad H. decided to surprise Gaga and Aunt Bet for their birthdays and flew us all down for Easter weekend. We only got one good day of sun, but that little taste of spring was just what the doctor ordered. Can't wait to go back for vacation!

Egg Hunt Brunch

Here are a few from our brunch and egg hunt at Grandma and Oompa's house. We got to play with little Eli and ate WAY too much yummy brunch food. Julia got to hold Eli, she was sooooo excited. I think she's going to be a great babysitter some day!

St. Patty's Day Dinner

Since we were going to be away for Easter we had a quick Easter brunch at Mom and Tom's and a St. Patty's Day dinner at Mima and Stipa's. I only discovered last year that I liked corned beef and cabbage, so I was REALLY looking forward to it. We had a little shot of Creme de menthe in honor of big Grammy. Great way to celebrate the Irish heritage!!
