Neil talks often and fondly of "growing up" at the lake. He loves everything about it and we try to get there as much as we can - a little easier now that the kids are older and don't require constant watching near the water.
I often look at their faces and how much they love being there and smile at the thought of the next generation growing up, loving the lake. It's pretty easy to love.

That's how Matt is about the Cape. The kids too. They love it - even though the experience is a little different from his as a kid. Also it's just far enough away to make it difficult. (And the in-laws sometimes complicate matters...) But lots of fun memories. And my kids (especially Em) are all about the traditions.
I'm with Neil. We love going to your lake, I can imagine it is a nice escape from the "madness".
